Mission Statement: To provide services and programs that help to build healthier families, organizations and communities.
The Worthy Institute, LLC, is a private community organization that has been providing programs and services to families,organizations, and the community since 2005. Services include teen prevention and education and family support programs, cultural competency and diversity training and community health initiatives that address health disparities among at-risk and under-served populations.
Worthy Institute is led by Founder and CEO, Rasheda Worthy. Rasheda has over 15 years experience working with families and communities. Rasheda's professional awards include; 2009 Golden Heart Business Award, 2007 Arizona Business Journal Forty under 40 Award, 2007 AzBiz Magazine 35 under 35 Entrepreneur Award, Roosevelt School District Excellence in Programs Recognition, 2008 Aganza Community Service Award and a nomination as a national finalist for Woman of the Year in Glamour Magazine. Currently, Rasheda serves a Commissioner to Arizona Governor Jan Brewer on the Commission for Women and Children's Health, Board of Director for Susan G. Komen for the Cure and an Ambassador for the American Heart Association Cultural Health Initiative. Formerly, Rasheda has served on the City of Phoenix Laveen Village Planning Committee and City of Phoenix African American Police Advisory Board. Other involvement and memberships include the South Phoenix Healthy Kids Partnership and the National Association of Social Workers.
Worthy Institute takes pride in our collaborative efforts with various community, government and corporate agencies. Our community and collaborative partners include The Arizona Department of Health Services, Arizona Department of Economic Security, Magellan Behavioral Health Services, American Heart Association, City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department and Housing Departments, Phoenix Union High School District and many other valuable organizations. It is our partners and friends along with our talented staff that allow us to serve our community.
