Marriage and Communication Workshop
Teen Talk Relationship and Communication Workshop
The Relationship and Communication Workshop Program provides individuals and couples with information pertaining to Relationship Skill Building, Healthy Communication, Finance, Domestic Violence and Marriage and Non-Marital Relationships including Cohabitation and Parenting. The program is open to the public. The fee for the program is $25 per individual or $40 per couple. Workshops are held on Saturdays from 9am to Noon.
The Teen Talk Relationship and Communication Workshop Program provides teens ages 13-17 with information about healthy relationships, healthy communication, conflict resolution, problem solving, dating violence, communicating with parents and self esteem.
Public workshop locations are conveniently located throughout Maricopa County in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Various locations allow participants an opportunity to attend locations most convenient for them as well as offer different schedules to attend the workshop. Workshops may be scheduled upon request. Community Organizations and Schools may schedule workshops that bring the program directly to their site or location.
Workshop participants are supported through each workshop with a trained facilitator to guide the discussion and activities. All workshop topics allow time for questions and discussion related to information that is presented as well as resources for issues that present throughout the workshop.
The Program aims to provide workshop to all families that have an interest in participating in the program. Because of the diverse populations across communities, workshop curriculum is culturally competent and diverse. The program workshop curriculum is designed to correlate with the history, values and perspectives of various cultures and ethnic groups as well as social classes.
Needs and problems of individuals and families are quite varied. The design of the Workshop Program allows individuals /families to view their unique relationship through different lenses and identify their particular level of need in order to assess strengths and gain resiliency, as well as identify appropriate strategies for improving communication within their relationship.
Long term overarching goals of the Relationship and Communication Skills Workshop Program include eliminating unhealthy relationship behavior including domestic violence and decrease the divorce rates and teen pregnancies in our communities. The program aims to reduce domestic violence and increase healthy marriages and relationships.
The workshop is designed to provide support for individuals or couples who seek information and resources on how to improve and maintain a healthy relationship.
At the end of each workshop participants will complete a participant survey evaluation that allows them to provide feedback about their experience throughout the workshop. Participants also complete pre and post tests to help measure the change in knowledge, attitudes and behaviors related to healthy relationships.
